Having trouble finding concrete information on if EX-SFP-10GE-T will
work in an EX4550?  Officially it doesn't look like Juniper says it's
supported.

I recall when 10G Copper SFP+ were coming to market they had thermal and
power budget issues that made them possibly not usable on certain platforms.

Is that no longer the case with SFP-GE-Ts sold today?

You need some extra electronics for the copper phy support. I don’t know if the 4550 has that.

You are correct in that there are no certified 10GEBase-T SFP for the EX4550, or any other Juniper product (that I am aware of), at this time.

So if you go this route, you are on your own. I do know of some who have used 10GEBase-T optics on other Juniper products, like EX4600/QFX51xx, and got them to work, but not aware of anything involving older EX4550/EX4500.

It is expect that EOL/EOS for legacy EX products will be announced shortly, I very much doubt that any 10GEBase-T Optic will ever get official certification on these older products.

FYI only.
